The Highway 54 Yard Sale was established in 2011 by Connie Mattingly-Layne to promote tourism in local communities that run along Hwy 54 in Western Kentucky.
The Route: Owensboro to Leitchfield, Kentucky runs Approximately 50 miles along Highway 54 and includes Daviess, Ohio and Grayson Counties.
The Spring dates coincide with the Kentucky Derby weekend May 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The Fall dates, September 19th, 20th and 21st, allow you to combine some fantastic shopping with a visit to Fordsville Days. Learn more
If you're driving along Highway 54, in May or September you will see numerous yard sales as well as signs that promote sales on side streets. Even though everything starts on a Thursday, there are no set hours for the individual participants. It’s a great bi-annual event with bargains for all. Many businesses take the opportunity to use these three day events to run special sales or entertainment to please the crowds. Join the fun and make it a family day and treasure hunt.
